All tests are fallible to some degree, so judgments or classifications based on them must be done with care.

While many tests may claim a high degree of accuracy, it is widely recognized that there are many complex factors that can affect how accurately any single test is able to measure what students have learned. This is one major reason why an important decision about a student’s level of learning should NOT be based on a single test result.
